Information: Lieut. Edmund John Macrory Robertson, 70th Battery R.F.A., who fell in action at Festubert, France, on May 22, 1915, was the son of Dr. J.R.S. Robertson, of Hayling Island, Hants, grandson of Edmund Macrory, K.C., and great-grandson of Adam John Macrory, of Duncairn, Belfast. He was born on May 29, 1891, educated at Parkfield, Hayward's Heath, and Bradfield College, Berks, and entered the Royal Field Artillery in 1910. He went out with his battery in August, 1914, with the First Expeditionary Force, was wounded at Mons, and mentioned in Sir John French's first despatch. Lieutenant Robertson's father was a surgeon with the British Army in the Egyptian campaign and was with the Gordon Relief Expedition.
