Information: Second Lieutenant William Henry Sargaison, 5th Batt. Connaught Rangers, who was killed in action in Serbia on December 6th, 1915, in his 22nd year, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Sargaison, Battery Road, Longford. He was educated at Mountjoy School, Dublin, and St. George's College, London. At the outbreak of the war he joined the “D” Company of the 7th Royal Dublin Fusiliers at its formation and took part in the engagement at Suvla Bay and in the subsequent fighting in Gallipoli. He was then promoted to a commission in the 5th Connaught Rangers and transferred to Salonika, where he was killed while fighting in the rearguard action,
