Information: Captain R. B. Burgess, R.E., only son of Mr. H. G. Burgess, Irish manager of the L&NW Railway Co., has died of wounds received in action in France. He was educated at Portora School and Trinity College, Dublin, and was afterwards called to the Bar. Early in the war he volunteered and obtained a commission in the Army Service Corps, and was rapidly promoted to a Captaincy in the Royal Engineers. Captain Burgess was one of the best Rugby players in Ireland.
