Information: Second Lieutenant Rowan Shaw, 9th Cheshire Regiment, who was killed in France on February 23rd, was the elder son of the late Judge Shaw, Recorder of Belfast. He was educated at St. Columba's College and Dublin University, and served through the South African War with the Imperial Yeomanry, for which he held the South African medal with three clasps. He was called to the Irish Bar, and subsequently went to the Federated Malay States. On the outbreak of this war he volunteered for service, and received a commission in the 9th Battalion Cheshire Regiment last April.
