Information: Captain L. S. Norman Palmer, Royal Dublin Fusiliers, 7th Battalion, was mentioned in General Sir Ian Hamilton's despatches for gallantry at the Dardanelles. He took part in the Suvla Bay landing. After fourteen days' severe fighting he was wounded and invalided home. Captain Palmer served in the South African War. and was awarded the Queen's Medal with three clasps. When war was proclaimed in 1914 he again volunteered for active service. He is the eldest son of the late T.R. Palmer, physician and surgeon, Limerick.
