Information: Lieutenant Vivian T. T. Rea B.A., 2nd Batt. Royal Irish Rifles, killed in action at Neuve Chapelle on October 25th. He was the only son of Mr. Henry Tighe Rea, of Glandore Park, Belfast, and grandson of the late Mr. Hugh Rea, of Clifton Lodge, Belfast. He joined the 4th Batt. of the Royal Irish Rifles two years ago and was promoted and selected for service with the 2nd Batt., which he joined at the front on September 27th. He was a very popular student at Trinity College, Dublin, where he had a distinguished career, gaining many honours, including the medal of the Theological Society for oratory, which was awarded this year and was only sent to his parents after his death. He was Hon. Secretary of the Ulster Provisional Council of Baden-Powell's Scouts, and an enthusiastic Scoutmaster and an earnest worker amongst the young men and boys of Bangor, Co. Down.
