Information: Captain T. J. Reynolds, Royal Irish Rifles, only son of the late Mr. T. J. Reynolds, C.E., Ceylon, entered the army April, 1900; obtained his Captaincy in 1909, and was appointed Adjutant of the 3rd Battalion May, 1914. Early in his military career he was recommended for service with the Housas force in West Africa, and took part in the Ashanti Expedition, for which he received the Medal. Appointed a Lieutenant in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers, he joined his battalion in India, where he was later appointed to the Staff. On obtaining his company he was transferred to the 2nd Battalion Royal Irish Rifles, where he was again recommended for service as Adjutant to the Territorial Forces, and held this appointment for one year. Last January he was appointed to the 3rd Battalion Royal Irish Rifles, and accompanied the regiment from Belfast to Dublin on the outbreak of the war, leaving Dublin for the front on September 24th. He was a well known cricketer, and at one time played for the Leinster Cricket Club.
