Information: Captain Viscount Gort M.V.O., Grenadier Guards, Lord Gort is the sixth holder of the title, and was born in July, 1886, and educated at Harrow and Royal Military College, Sandhurst, and was gazetted to the Grenadier Guards in 1905. He was A.D.C. from 1913 to this year to Major-General Sir Francis Lloyd, K.C.B., C.V.O., D.S.O., Commanding the London District. On the outbreak of the war Lord Gort was appointed A.D.C. to Major-General C. H. Munro, Commanding the 2nd Division, and was mentioned in Sir John French's despatches. He was married in February, 1910, to his cousin, Corinne, only daughter of Mr. George M. Vereker, of Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick, and Sharpitor, Salcombe, South Devon.
