Information: Major Viscount Massereene and Ferrard D.S.O., North Irish Horse, formerly 17th Lancers, entered the army in 1895; served through the South African War, and was mentioned twice in despatches. He was promoted Brevet-Major, and received the Queen's Medal with four clasps and the King's Medal with two clasps and the D.S.O. He retired in 1907, having married in 1905 Jean Barbara, daughter of Mr. Stirling-Ainsworth, M.P. He has been mentioned in Sir John French's despatches.
