Information: Major Hubert F. Crichton, Irish Guards, the only son of Col. the Hon. Charles Crichton, of Mullaboden, Co Kildare. Entered the service in January, 1896, served with the Nile Expedition, took part in the battle of Khartoum, received the Egyptian medal with clasps. He also served in the South African war, and was employed with the Imperial Yeomanry, receiving the Queen's Medal with two clasps. He was well known in hunting circles in Co. Kildare, and was very popular with his men as well as with his brother officers. He married in 1903 a daughter of the late Mr. Llewelyn and Lady Rachel Saunderson.
