Information: Lieut. Arthur Noel Whitfield, Royal Irish Rifles, who was killed in action. He was the eldest son of the Rev. A. L. Whitfield, Hughenden Vicarage, High Wickham. He joined the Army in October, 1910, as second Lieutenant, and obtained his promotion in March of this year. He was a very keen and promising young soldier, and was mentioned in Sir John French's despatches.
