Information: Sir Richard William Levinge Bart., First Life Guards (attached), who was killed in action, was the representative of a very old Irish family. He was born in July, 1878, and, succeeded his father as 10th Baronet in 1900. He formerly held a Lieutenancy in the 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars, and also in the 6th Batt. of the Rifle Brigade, and more recently had served in the South Irish Horse. On the outbreak of war he rejoined the army, and was attached to the First Life Guards. He was Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Westmeath, where he resided at Knockdrin Castle, near Mullingar. He was well known in hunting and sporting circles in Ireland.
