Information: Lieut. Colonel Charles Dalton, R.A.M.C., who has died of wounds sustained in the battle of the Aisne. He was born at Monkstown, Co. Dublin, 1867, educated at Clongowes. After serving in the Merchant Service, where his gallantry in saving life procured him the Arnott Medal, Dr. Dalton passed into the Army Medical Corps. He saw active service in Burma, Chitral, Sierra Leone and South Africa. At the battle of Colenso he was seriously wounded, his recovery being short of marvellous. He took part in most of the operations in the Orange River Colony, and also in Cape Colony, and was mentioned in despatches. February, 1901. He obtained the Queen's Medal with three clasps. He was Deputy Assistant Director of the Irish Medical Command.
