Information: Commander Arthur Tudor Darley, H.M.S. Good Hope, who was killed in the naval action off the coast of Chile on November 1st. He joined the Britannia in November, 1890, passing in 7th out of 57 candidates. He became midshipman in 1808 and Lieut, in 1898, and Commander in Dec., 1909. The following month he was appointed Flag-Commander to Admiral Winsloe, Commander-In-Chief on the China Station, and in June,1912, he was one of the fifteen Commanders selected for the special appointment to the newly formed War Staff. In March last he was temporarily appointed to the Good Hope, while waiting to take up an appointment to the Flag Ship of the China Squadron. He was the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Darley, of Violet Hill, Bray, Co. Wicklow, and in November, 1910, he married Charlotte Sinclair, elder daughter of Major-General E. S. May, C.B., C.M.G.
