Information: Captain Charles Palmer, 5th Shropshire Light Infantry, died in hospital in London as a result of wounds received in action about three months ago. Capt. Palmer was a son of the late Mr. Joseph W. Palmer, of Waterford, and a nephew of Miss Palmer, Mowbray Cottage. Tramore. He was educated at Waterpark College, and subsequently at Liverpool College. He was subsequently appointed manager of important engineering works in China, but on the outbreak of the war he returned home to join the colours. He obtained his commission in the 5th King's Shropshire Light Infantry, and was promoted Captain in December last.
