Information: Captain George Herbert Hastings, 1st Batt. Middlesex Regiment, died of wounds on Feb. 5th, 1915. He was the third son of the late Rev. S. Hastings, Rector of Halton, Lancaster, and Mrs. Hastings, St. Wilfrid's House, Halton, and grandson of John Hastings Esq., of Downpatrick. He was educated at Aldenham School, Herts. He went to France with his regiment in August, 1914, and was in all the fighting in the retreat from Mons. Captain Hastings was mentioned in despatches published on February 18, 1915.
