Information: Captain William J. Austin Lalor, 1st Canadian Infantry Brigade, is a nephew of Mrs. Rebecca Ardill, of Knockarley, Birr, King's County; has received the Cross of the Legion of Honour from the French Government; he has also gained the Military Cross. He has been in the trenches since February, 1915, being in charge of the machine guns in some of the heaviest battles. Captain Lalor was born in Muskoko, where his parents were amongst the pioneer settlers some 40 years ago, and where he holds a large tract of the lumber region in the Lake District, where his mother still lives.
