Information: Second Lieutenant Charles Henry Tisdall, 8th Royal West Kent Regiment, was killed in action on February 13th, 1916, whilst gallantly rescuing a soldier who had been entombed by the falling in of a trench which was heavily bombarded. He was a son of the late Mr. A. W. Tisdall, L.L.B., Dublin, and Mrs. Tisdall, Ellesmere, Tuslay Lane, Godalming, and grandson of Major-General Tisdall. He was born in Dublin and educated at Aravon School, Bray, and Tonbridge School. He obtained a commission in the 8th Royal West Kent Regiment as soon as he was eighteen, and went to the front in October, 1915.
