Information: Lieutenant John Perry Lavery, Royal Garrison Artillery, who was recently wounded and is at present in hospital in London, has been awarded the Military Cross for conspicuous gallantry in the field. He was educated at Cookstown Academy and gained the Nutting Scholarship into Trinity College, where he graduated. On the outbreak of the war he volunteered and received his commission in the R.G.A. He went to France in August, 1915, where he was in charge of a Trench Mortar Battery. Lieutenant Lavery is in his 23rd year.
