Information: Lieutenant Louis Quinlan, 8th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, fell during a gas attack in France on April 27th, 1916. He was the fourth son of Mr. Michael Quinlan, Bandon, and was educated at Clongowes and Belvedere Colleges. Lieutenant Quinlan was an all-round athlete and played for Leinster in the Senior Schools Interprovincial Rugby Matches in 1914. In October, 1914, he joined the Cadet Company of the 7th Leinsters at Fermoy, and obtained his Commission in the Inniskillings in April, 1915. He went to the front in February, 1916, and a few days before his death was commended for good work, and was given command of a trench mortar battery.
