Information: Captain Gordon James Rennie, 6th South African Regiment, was killed in action on February 12th, 1916, in British East Africa. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Rennie, Ardlumcart Lodge, Aberdeenshire, and grandson of the late Mr. John Lloyd Blood, J.P., Monkstown. Captain Rennie was born at Durban, Natal, and was educated at the Durban High School, Ashampstead, Eastbourne, and Radley College, Abingdon. He served all through the German Southwest African campaign as Captain in the Durban Light Infantry, and was subsequently given command of a Company of the 6th South African Regiment, in British East Africa, where he fell.
