Information: Lieutenant Hugh Campbell, 17th Signal Company, Royal Engineers, has been awarded the D.C.M. and promoted Lieutenant for conspicuous gallantry during operations when working day and night repairing telephone wires under heavy fire when, during the British attack at Ypres, he succeeded after several failures in making good the signal lines through the German curtain of fire. He is a son of Mr. John Campbell, Minaduff, Gortin, Co. Tyrone.
