Information: Lieutenant Colonel Gilbert Steward Crawford C.M.G. M.D., R.A.M.C., has served with distinction during the war, and for his services, which were mentioned in despatches, by Field-Marshal Viscount French, he was appointed a Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George. He was in command of the 14th Field Ambulance from mobilisation until August last, and was through some of the heaviest fighting on the western front, frequently carrying out his work under heavy shell fire. He is at present in command of the 18th Stationary Hospital, Mediterranean Expeditionary Force. Lieut. Col. Crawford is the seventh son of the late Mr. S. Crawford, Clough, Co. Antrim, and brother of Mr. Robert Crawford, Ashville, Ballymena.
