Information: Lieutenant Gerald Aloysius Neilan, who was killed in Dublin on Easter Monday, was a son of the late Mr. John Neilan, J.P., Ballygalda, Roscommon, and of Mrs. Neilan, Leinster Road, Dublin. He was educated at Clongowes Wood College, and receiving his Commission in the Northumberland Fusiliers in December, 1914, transferred to the 10th Batt. Royal Dublin Fusiliers in February last. He had seen previous service with the Sherwood Foresters through the South African War, where he was severely wounded in action. Lieutenant Neilan was a keen athlete.
