Information: Lt. Charles Frederick L. Bailey was the only son of the late Mr. C. F. Bailey, Marksbury, Bath, and of Mrs. Bailey, Eastville, Dunmanway, Co. Cork. For six weeks prior to his death he had been operating trench mortar guns. On the 9th May he was struck by a piece of high explosive shell and killed instantaneously. He received a commission in the 8th R.D.F. in March, 1915, and went to France in December last with the 16th Division.
