Information: Sec. Lieutenant Noel Desmond Trimble, 8th Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, who has been killed in action, was the youngest son of Mr. W. Copeland Trimble, J.P., Enniskillen. He was educated at Enniskillen Royal School, where he won several distinctions, and at Trinity College, Dublin, when on last Trinity Monday he became a (classical) Scholar of the House and therefore a Governor of the foundation, and had already given promise of a brilliant university career. He obtained his commission in the 12th (Reserve) Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers on the 23rd June, 1915, and was posted to the 8th on arrival at the base in France. The late Second-Lieutenant Trimble was one of the three brothers in the Junior Service, the others being Lieutenant R.S. Trimble, 6th Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers, who was wounded at the Dardanelles in August last, and Second-Lieutenant A.E.C. Trimble, 7th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, who was recently commended by Major- General W. B. Hickie, C.B., for gallant conduct and devotion to duty in the field.
