Information: Second Lieutenant Noel John Davies, Royal Dublin Fusiliers, was killed in action in France on April 27th, 1916, in his 25th year. He was the third son of the late James Taaffe Davies, D.I., R.I.C., and of Mrs. Davies, 46 Kenilworth Park, Rathgar, and grandson of the late Edward Ffrench Beytagh, Q.C. He was educated at the Presentation College, Cork, and later entered the service of the Munster and Leinster Bank, Dame Street. On the outbreak of the war he volunteered and received a Commission in the Dublin Fusiliers. He went to France early in the year, where his absolute fearlessness under fire and soldierly ability earned the praise of his officers.
