Information: Lieutenant Colonel R.J.W. Mawhinny, R.A.M.C., son of the late Thomas Mawhinny, M.D., Woodlawn, Mountnugent, Co. Cavan, served with the Isarzai Expedition of 1892 and in the operations in Natal. He also took part in the defence of Ladysmith, and was mentioned in despatches and awarded the Queen's medal with six clasps. He has been recently serving in Mesopotamia, and is included in the recent Indian Honours List as C.B. Colonel Mawhinny married Kathleen, eldest daughter of the late Mr. Alex. Knox M'Entire, B.L., who was Official Assignee, Court of Bankruptcy, Dublin.
