Information: Second Lieutenant James Stapleton, Royal Field Artillery, has been awarded the Military Cross for conspicuous bravery at the battle of St. Eloi. Lieut. Stapleton was well known in Rugby and rowing circles, and before joining the colours was an officer of the Pembroke Municipal Council. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Stapleton, Partevine, Strand Road, Merrion, and was educated at Blackrock College.
