Information: Second Lieutenant Bernard Reid, 9th Batt. Royal Dublin Fusiliers, who was killed in action in France on June 28th, 1916, was a son of Mr. Michael Reid, Tower Hill, Dalkey. He was educated at St. Mary's College, Rathmines, and subsequently entered the National University, where he graduated and took a leading part in the activities of the college, being for some time editor of the National Student, the college magazine. He joined the Cadet Corps of the Leinster Regiment shortly after the outbreak of the war and was subsequently gazetted to the 8th Batt. Royal Dublin Fusiliers.
