Information: Lieutenant Richard Brinsley Sheridan, 8th Batt. Royal Dublin Fusiliers, was killed on active service in France through the premature explosion of a bomb. He was Battalion Grenadier Officer, and as such had shown exceptional efficiency and initiative, and had been recommended for honours by his Commanding Officer. Lieut. Sheridan was in his 26th year, and was the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Sheridan, of Slievemore, Dugort, Achill Island.
