Information: Captain Cecil Herbert Michael Furnell, R.G.A., who died of wounds on 30th April, 1916, at Abeele Hospital, was the fourth son of the late Mr. G. C. Furnell and of Mrs. Furnell, of Ballyclough, Co. Limerick. He was born on May 30th, 1882; was gazetted in 1902 to the R.G.A., having served in Bermuda and Egypt. He had fought with the Expeditionary Force since the commencement of the war, and commanded a heavy battery, when he was wounded by shellfire.
