Information: Lieutenant John Frederick Healy, Royal Irish Rifles, killed in action in France on 2nd July, 1916, aged 19 years, was the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Healy, Peafield, Blackrock, Co. Dublin. He was educated at Avoca School, Blackrock, from whence he went to Elstow (Bedford County) School, where he remained about five years, being in his time both house and school captain. He also served while there in the School O.T.C. He then entered Trinity College, Dublin, and joined the 3rd Royal Irish Rifles before he was 18 years old. He served about 16 months in the army, including nearly four months at the front. He was attached to the West Belfast Regiment at the time of his death.
