Information: Lieutenant W.A.D. Goodwin, York and Lancaster Regiment, was the only son of Mr. Singleton Goodwin and Mrs. Goodwin, Ballyroe, Tralee, Co. Kerry. Lieut. Goodwin was educated at Bumsgrove School and was a scholar and undergraduate of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He obtained a commission in November, 1914, and was gazetted to the York and Lancaster Regiment in January, 1915. He went to the front in April, 1916, and was acting as signalling officer to his battalion at the time he was killed in action on July 1st, 1916, in his 23rd year.
