Information: Lieut. Colonel Arthur Maxwell, who has been mentioned in despatches and awarded brevet promotion for gallant and distinguished service in the field, was born in Dublin and belonged to a well known County Down family. He received his commission in the Post Office Rifles in 1900. He went to France in March, 1915, and since October last was in command of his battalion. Colonel Maxwell was wounded in May, 1916.
