Information: Second Lieutenant Robert Taylor Montgomery, 9th Royal Irish Fusiliers, who was killed in action, was the second surviving son of Mr. T.J. Montgomery, High Street, Portadown. At the outbreak of the war he was commandant of the local medical corps of the U.V.F., and was amongst the first to volunteer for active service. He enlisted in the 9th Royal Irish Fusiliers and received his commission in May, 1915. Lieut. Montgomery was an enthusiastic athlete and had won several medals in competitions.
