Information: Lieutenant George Guy Finlay, Royal Irish Regiment, who has been killed in action, was the second and only surviving son of Colonel Henry T. Finlay, D.L., of Corkagh, Clondalkin, Co. Dublin. He was 26 years of age. Lieutenant Finlay volunteered for active service from the Malay States at the outbreak of the war, and arrived in Ireland in December, 1914. He obtained a commission in the Royal Irish Regiment in January, 1915, and in May of the same year he was attached to a battalion of that regiment, with which he served up to the time of his death.
Additional information: Commonwealth War Graves Commission incorrectly states George Guy Finlay was killed on 14th July 1918
