Information: Lieutenant Herbert Quarry, who was killed in action on August 3rd, 1916. was the son of the late Michael Quarry and Mrs. Mitchelstown, Co. Cork. He was gazetted to the R.F.A. in December, 1914, and in October, 1915, was on active service. Three weeks before his death he was commended for his bravery in staying when his battery was given leave to bandage wounded in the open trench under heavy shell fire.
