Information: Captain George Gardner, Royal Bucks Hussars, previously reported missing, now believed to have been killed in Gallipoli in August last year, was the son of Sir Robert Gardner, of “Ashley”, Clyde Road, Dublin, and was born in December, 1883. He was educated at Malvern and joined the 21st (Empress of India's) Lancers in 1902 when they were stationed in Dublin, being promoted Lieutenant in 1909 and Captain in October, 1912. He was made Adjutant of the Royal Bucks Hussars (Yeomanry) in March, 1914, and came from India to take up this appointment, and was with the Yeomanry for a year before going with them on active service to Egypt and Gallipoli.
