Information: Second Lieutenant Edward Chandos Elliot Chambers, 19th Lancashire Fusiliers, was killed in action on July 1, aged 20. He was the only son of Richard Edward Elliot Chambers, of Lyme Regis, Dorset, who, with his family, has long held property in Co. Meath. Born on April 4th, 1896, he was educated at Mr. Douglas's, Malvern Link, where he was captain of the school in his last term; at Marlborough College, and at Oxford, where he was an exhibitioner at St. John's College. Having been four years in the Marlborough College and Oxford University O.T.C., he was gazetted as a Cadet from the latter corps, Second Lieutenant, 19th (Service) Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers, June 15, 1915.
