Information: Captain W.B. Pepper, R.G.A., was the youngest son of the late Lieut. Colonel Pepper, of Milford Hill. Salisbury, and formerly of Lissanisky, King's County. Educated at Weymouth College, he joined the Militia at the outbreak of the South African War, at the age of 16, serving as a temporary officer at Plymouth. He was gazetted to the R.G.A. in 1902, and after serving for some years in the Channel Islands and Bermuda, he exchanged into a Mountain Battery in India. At the outbreak of the present war he was Adjutant to the Antrim Special Reserve, R.G.A. In August, 1915, he Joined the 32nd Siege Brigade as Adjutant and proceeded with them to Egypt, the Brigade being transferred to France in April, 1916, where he fell on 4th August.
