Information: Second Lieutenant Cecil W. Daly, Rifle Brigade, who was killed in action in France on August 1st, 1916, was the second son of the late William Daly, D.L., Dunsandle, Co. Galway, and was in his 19th year. He was educated at St. Anthony's and Downside College, from which he passed to Sandhurst in February, 1915. He obtained his commission in the Rifle Brigade in August, 1915, and went to the front in June, 1916.
