Information: Major G.P. Lindrea, South Midland Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, was killed by a shell which struck the observation post where his battery was located. Major Lindrea was the son of the late Mr. L. T. Lindrea and Mrs. Lindrea, of Westbury-on-Trym, Gloucestershire, and was a grandson of the late Alderman Hegarty, who was Mayor of Cork in 1869-70. Major Lindrea was a keen soldier, and through his keenness and ability had attained the rank of Major in his 21st year.
