Information: Second Lieutenant G. Hardress Purdon, King's Royal Rifle Corps, who was killed in action on July 22nd, was a son of Colonel Purdon, Lisnabin, Killucan, Westmeath, and was educated at Arnold House, Llandudno, Winchester College, and Sandhurst. He received his commission in August, 1915, and had been at the front about two months when he was killed, in his 19th year. His two brothers are also in the Rifle Brigade, now serving in France.
