Information: Second Lieutenant Eric Maurice Wilson, Royal Irish Rifles, the younger son of the Rev. W. M. Wilson, Methodist Minister, Monaghan, was born in Fermoy, Co. Cork, July 10th, 1835. He was educated at Wesley College, Dublin, the Grammar School, Youghal, and the Methodist College, Belfast, and was studying at Queen's University, Belfast, when he joined the O.T.C. in January, 1915. In the following August he received his commission, and was in training attached to the 17th Battalion R.I. Rifles in Ballykinlar Camp till he was sent to France in the middle of June, 1916, where he fell in action on July 2nd whilst gallantly cheering on his men in the attack.
