Information: Second Lieutenant Cecil Henry Moffatt, Lancashire Fusiliers, was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Moffatt, Eccles, Manchester, and grandson of Mr. George Black, Ahascragh, Co. Galway. He was killed on August 1st, 1916, on his 20th birthday. He, with his elder brother, joined the army at the outbreak of the war and were subsequently given commissions in the 2nd Lancashire Fusiliers. They went to France in November, 1915, and were both killed in action.
