Information: Second Lieutenant Cyril B. Hayes, R.E., recently wounded, and who has been awarded the Military Cross, is the son of the late Dr. Alfred Hayes, of Clanwilliam, South Africa, and Mrs. Hayes, of Woodraere, Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin, and grandson of the late Mr. Justice Hayes. He obtained his B.A.I. degree in Trinity College, Dublin, in 1915. Having received a commission in the Royal Engineers, he shortly afterwards proceeded on active service to France, where he was wounded, and on recovery rejoined his company.
