Information: Capt. R. C. R. Kane, Royal Irish Rifles, who has been awarded the Military Cross, and shortly afterwards promoted Captain, is a son of the late Rev. Dr. Kane, Christ Church, Belfast, who was for many years Grand Master of the Belfast Orangemen. When the war broke out he was a District Commissioner in the Fiji Islands. He returned home to join the Army, and on 16th November, 1915, was posted to a commission in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. In July last he was transferred to a Belfast battalion of the Royal Irish Rifles.
