Information: Captain Cyril A. Bernard, R.A.M.C., has been awarded the Military Cross for gallantry and devotion to duty for volunteering to conduct, under very heavy shellfire, stretcherbearers bringing in wounded. He made several trips and brought in many wounded. He is a son of Dr. A. Bernard, M.B., Liverpool, and a nephew of Mrs. H.J. Roberts, Park Villa, Waterford, whose husband is a cousin of the late Lord Roberts. Captain Bernard has gained distinction as a Rugby player, and in 1905 gained the Challenge Cup at the swimming competition for senior boys. He has been at the front since September, 1914.
