Information: Lieutenant P.J. O'Connor, 8th Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers, joined his Battalion as a private, preferring to serve in the ranks. He was Machine Gun Sergeant when he left with his Regiment for the front, and was promoted on the field for conspicuous bravery. For further gallantry in April last, when he continued to lead his men though gassed and wounded, he was awarded the Military Cross. He was very severely wounded on that occasion, but is now out of danger. Lieutenant O'Connor is a son of Mr. M. O'Connor, 52 East Arran Street, Dublin.
